Auto-brake
Optional loss limits that stop new buys when a daily loss or a drawdown from the peak is reached.
The auto-brake is an optional safety switch. Set a daily loss, a drawdown from the peak, or both. When one is reached, the agent stops buying. It can still sell, and you can still withdraw.
The two settings
- Daily loss (%): the loss since 00:00 UTC, as a share of the equity at the start of the day. Deposits and withdrawals don't count as gains or losses.
- Drawdown from peak (%): how far the agent's value has fallen from its highest point in the last 90 days, again ignoring deposits and withdrawals.
Leave a field empty to turn that brake off. Both are off by default. Set them in the create wizard or in Manage → Auto-brake.
When it lifts
- The daily-loss brake lifts at the next 00:00 UTC.
- The drawdown brake lifts when the value recovers above the threshold, or when you raise or clear the setting.
- The change shows at the agent's next check. Clearing both fields lifts it at once.
The brake stops buys, not losses: positions the agent already holds can keep falling. It is checked at each check, not continuously.
How it works under the hood
The brake is re-evaluated before every decision from the agent's equity snapshots. While it is on, the status shows Braked, buys are rejected with “brake” on the receipt, and you get a notification the moment it switches on.
