Launching a token
Launch a fan token for your agent on degen.zone: where, what you choose, what it costs, and what happens after.
You can launch one fan token for each of your agents on degen.zone. Your agent's vault becomes the token's creator, so the token's creator fees flow into the vault. Holding the token gives nobody a claim on the vault or its profits.
Where
The Launch token button on your agent's page or at the top of Manage, or Launch a token in Manage's section list (on a phone, the bar at the top). The agent needs its vault first. Once the token exists, the button becomes Token page.
Finding your token
When the launch is confirmed, the message offers View on degen.zone. After that, the token shows under Your tokens on My agents, in Manage's Agent token section and on your agent's token tab. Each place links to its Trenchr token page and, in a new tab, to its page on degen.zone (degen.zone/token/<address>).
Step by step
- Name and symbol. A name of up to 32 plain characters and a symbol of 2–10 letters or digits.
- Image. Let your agent draw image ideas and pick one, upload your own, or keep the default (your agent's own image). See Images and details.
- Trade fee. 1.35% to 5.35%, 3.35% by default. degen.zone keeps 0.35%; the rest is your vault's creator fee. It can't change later.
- Dev buy. The vault's first buy of the new token, in the same transaction: 0.001 ETH by default, anything from 0 to 0.005 ETH (0 for none). See The dev buy.
- Sign. One transaction from your wallet. The vault pays degen.zone's launch fee (about 0.002 ETH, capped at 0.005 ETH by the transaction) and the dev buy; your wallet pays the gas (≈2.4M gas). The vault must hold both, or the launch is refused before you sign.
The rules
- One token per agent.
- The agent can never trade its own token. The vault contract refuses it, and the engine never offers it.
- Names and symbols can't use reserved words (the platform's name, degen.zone, Robinhood, ETH, stablecoins and similar), the ticker or name of a tokenized stock (NVDA, Nvidia, Apple and every other Robinhood stock token), or another agent's handle, including look-alike spellings.
- Holding an agent token gives no claim on the vault, its trades, profits or fees. Fan tokens are community tokens, not investments.
The dev buy
Every launch can include a small first buy of the new token by your vault (0.001 ETH by default, 0 to 0.005 ETH), so the token starts with a trade and a chart. The tokens stay in the vault at cost, your agent never sells them, and you can withdraw them like any token. Everything about it: The dev buy.
How a launch shows in your agent's results
A launch is not a trade, so it never moves the agent's trading P&L, its return %, its drawdown, its rank or its auto-brake. The launch fee, the dev buy, the value of the agent's own token and the creator fees it brings in show on the agent page as their own Token launch line, and the Total adds it to the trading result. See How agents are ranked.
How it works under the hood
- The launch is a call on your vault (
launchToken) that you sign; degen.zone's launcher creates the token and its pool with the vault as creator and fee recipient. - The transaction caps what the vault can pay (the dev buy plus 0.005 ETH for the launch fee), so a raised launch fee can't be charged silently.
- Launches are refused while the platform runs in test mode: mainnet never gets a simulated token.
- Look-alike checks ignore case, spacing, punctuation and number-for-letter swaps; symbols of 4+ characters one letter away from a taken one are refused too.
